3 Ways to keep your Storage Unit Organized

3 Ways to keep your Storage Unit Organized

Steps to take before it gets too late.

cluttered garage

If you are trying to declutter your home with a storage unit, the last thing you want is to walk into more clutter. Here are some tips to follow so your storage unit doesn’t become the new clutter. Stick to these easy steps and you will easily find what you are looking for when you go searching.

Take Photos

Sometimes it is easier to have a mental image handy. Before filling up your storage unit, take a quick inventory of everything you are planning to keep in the unit. A digital album will be a quick and easy way to reference before you drive to your local storage facility.

Label Everything!

If you label your boxes before moving them into your unit you will most likely load them in an orderly fashion that makes sense to you. Be sure to label the side of the boxes and not the top, as when the boxes are stacked they will be unseen.

Draw A Map

Minimize your search process and you will thank yourself later. Place your belongings in groups according to their contents. Draw a quick floor plan that can be easily referenced or understood for you or shared tenants.
